Fired by Jamie's imagination Snuff Mills became a childhood wonderland where he spent many hours exploring the area and filling it with a growing population of characters created to bring his adventures to life.
Unleashing these characters from his imagination helped to ease Jamie's childhood angst about being a small child who felt he looked different from other children. Over the years he watched his beloved Snuff Mills decline to reveal what he now believes is a more natural looking landscape.
To fulfil his dramatic side, Jamie began singing in the gang shows at the Bristol Hippodrome and in musicals at the Colston hall. A chance meeting back stage with Ralph Reader, creator of the gang shows, was a turning point.
Jamie asked Reader's advice on how to transform his childhood magical land into a format which could communicate it to a wider audience. Reader spurred him on by saying: "If I can create a musical, anyone can."
